You will come, O Lord
You will come, O Lord
in the power of loving peace
worthy in your honour
we shall not be found asleep
neither wakeful in our sins
nor wishing life and soul to fade
With our hearts of worship
when all is struck away
when all is bare and lying round about,
our lives we long to give you
our hope is in your love
our hearts are overflowing with this praise to you.
May we work for you, Lord Jesus
until our life is through
all we have we give you, Jesus
now strengthen us anew.
we are the guilty ones O Jesus
but contrite in our love.
stay awake, the day is drawing near
stay awake, the day is drawing near.
And when you come, O lord,
in confusion, midst our shame
when suffering shall fade away
your magnitude of love
shall encapsulate the earth
deservedly we’ll go our way.
In the midst of chaos
still surrounded by the night
may our adoration crave for you
these days of sin shall perish
and our new life shall begin
may our walk be close to you for eternity.
May we work for you, Lord Jesus
until our life is through
all we have we give you, Jesus
now strengthen us anew.
we are the guilty ones O Jesus
but contrite in our love.
stay awake, the day is drawing near
stay awake, the day is drawing near.

May we work for you, Lord Jesus
until our life is through
all we have we give you, Jesus
now strengthen us anew.
we are the guilty ones O Jesus
but contrite in our love.
stay awake, the day is drawing near
stay awake, the day is drawing near.
This was one of the first Praise songs I wrte in 2008, shortly after beginning to work in the Worship genre. 'You will come, O Lord' is a song of worship to Jesus, instructing us to stay awake, as the day of Jesus' coming is drawing near. None of us know our day of death.
